I took another trip this past weekend!  I had an unforgettable day traveling with Open Road Tours through the Sonoran Desert to Jerome, Arizona, the largest ghost town in America.  Jerome is historic copper mining town located 5,200 feet on top of what is called Cleopatra Hill.  Today, Jerome is an artist community offering unique pieces of art as well rich history.

After Jerome, I traveled to the beautiful Verde Canyon in northern Arizona, the home of America's national symbol, the Bald Eagle.  I just learned that over this past weekend....I did not know that such a plethora of Bald Eagles were essentially in my backyard.

Now that autumn is beginning here, the Verde Canyon is filled with gorgeous gold, copper and bronze foliage.  I boarded the Verde Canyon Railroad, a 4 hour train trip that began in Clarkdale, then took me through a ghost ranch in Perkinsville and then through Arizona's other grand canyon, the Verde Canyon which offered wonderful, panoramic photo opportunities of rugged, high desert rock faces, Indian ruins and a variety of wildlife.  The scenery was magnificent!  I am so glad that I came up here when the leaves were changing; it was well worth the experience.  Even if it was another time of year, this would have been a great trip.  I am going to have to bring friends and family back here when they visit!

Take advantage of the opportunity to visit this area of Arizona in its splendor!
