Rafting trip down the Colorado River

Posted on Sep 9th, 2008 by Rachel : Adventurer Rachel

I recently went on another adventure.  I decided to take a trip down the Colorado River.  I looked around at different companies and finally decided to use Open Road Tours.  I had a great time on this trip! I have taken other trips with them and I have never been disappointed.

What I enjoyed most about this trip was that I was able to get away from the hussle and bustle that life can have.  I have been focusing more lately on balance in life and this definately brought more peace and calm in my life!

We began the trip being transported up to the where we would board the float.  This was  great time to leave my concerns behind.  As I floated down the river my concerns washed away.   was completely immursed in nature  and the canyon walls.  The guide told us serveral historical stories about the natives of the land and also educated us about the earth, Arizona and the Grand Canyon.

This was exactly what I needed!  I invite everyone who reads this to stop and take some time to slow down...take this trip if you are in Arizona and if you are in another part of the country or the world, find that place of serenity and allow your concerns to wash away.

Your trip sounds wonderful–just the thing to get away from the everyday stressors.  I'd love to see pictures if you have them.
It's nice to see you back on Gaia and blogging again.  I've missed you, my friend.
