The Beauty of Arizona

I have really enjoyed the time that I have been in Arizona!  There are so many beautiful scenic areas that create wonderful photographs even for people that have no photography training.

I do not know what has been my favorite.  There is beautiful Sedona; this area is full of wondrous red rocks, art galleries, unique shops and much history!  Throughout history, this area has been inhabited by many Native Americans, Frontiers and artisans.  This area has been a great place to explore and get away from everyday life!  I have enjoyed hiking and finding great places to meditate or just sit quietly in scenic, peaceful environments.

I also have enjoyed the Grand Canyon.  This is a bit farther than Sedona so I have not been able to get up there as much, but I have not found any time of the year that has been a bad time to go.  In the fall, you will find oranges, yellows and reds as the leaves change.  In the winter, you will find snow-topped canyons and snow-topped trees.  In the spring there are amazing wildflowers and the waterfall on the Colorado River is running.  In the summer, there the colors of the canyon and flora come to life.

Traveling to the central part of the state I went on the Apache Trail discovering Goldfield ghost-town.  I especially liked the traditional saloon and all the industrial equipment in the yard!  I stopped at Tortilla Flat, a old stage-coach stop and purchased some prickly-pear ice-cream and sarsaparilla.  I think my favorite part about this trip was going through the mountains, seeing all the wonderful, desert flora including the Saguaro cacti and the cresting the mountains to find a gorgeous lake nestled in the middle.  I was able to take a steamboat ride there where I was able to capture amazing photos!

In the southern part of the state, there is Tucson and the Sonoran Museum.  This is a great area to discover.  I learned a lot about this area and the varying types of desert floras including the Saguaro cactus.  This area really felt like the pictures that are depicted in some of the old westerns with all the surrounding cacti.

I cannot wait to explore more of what Arizona has to offer!  I just ran across SO many more places that I want to visit.
